Great to see. Looking forward to progress! Here is a great read on the subject: Toxic cyanobacteria in water: A guide to their public health consequences, monitoring and management, at http://www.who.int/water_sanitation_health/resourcesquality/toxicyanbact/en/ .

Alum is discussed in Chapter 9. REMEDIAL MEASURES,  http://www.who.int/water_sanitation_health/resourcesquality/toxcyanchap9.pdf

November meeting

Our next meeting will be held on Monday, November 4 at 6:00 pm, in the meeting room at Pinto Lake City Park.

Several of you have emailed questions about the proposed treatment of the lake with Alum mentioned in recent newspaper interviews with Robert Ketley. So we have asked Robert, who is Senior Utilities Engineer for the City of Watsonville, to meet with us about this. He will describe how the Alum would affect the overabundance of Phosphorous in the lake, how it would be applied, the costs involved, and its impact on plants and wildlife in and around the lake.
